It’s A Jungle Out There

10 Feb

Working on The Adventures of Green Bean I have been given the task to create the world(s) in which Green’s imagination transports her. This week we are going to take a quick look at a concept for a jungle like locale where Bean befriends some indigenous creatures.

As you can see, I began by laying out the basic colors. I then began adding some detail by painting the bark on the trees.

Finally I added some shadows and highlights to some of the surrounding plants and add textures to the image. I then tweek the colors to make the final image darker and more moody.

Are these E-books? do you have them in print? Just curious. I am a mom/grandma/children’s author/illustrator. The Green Bean title caught my eye:) My character is Sissy Stringbean, of “The Magical Adventures Of Sissy Stringbean.” I was thinking that “Grean Bean” might be a nice friend for Sissy Stringbean:) I have 2 Sissy books in print.
My first children’s book ,Sissy Stringbean was created with love & dedication to my former sister-n-law and friend, Denise Ann Bailes, “Sissy,” who passed away from colon cancer in 2005.

Sissy Stringbean is a little girl with a big imagination. Travel with her to far away lands, sail on the seas with Pirates, fly to the moon, explore spooky caves much more! Let Sissy Stringbean warm your heart and bring a smile to your face:) Also look for Sissy Stringbean’s Magical World Of Seasons & Silly Rhymes. I have also created Morris Norris, Sissy’s friend in memory of my dad, Morris Shaffer, who passed away in Feb. of this year, in Detective Morris Norris & The Case Of The Missing Socks. Coming soon is Silver & Gold, a story of friendship as Sissy meets Morris Norris

Below is a site where you can advertise your books for free.

Thank you for the interest in our book. As of right now we are in the process of trying to find a publisher. We created this blog to document the creation of the book as well as the process in trying to get it published. Also, thank you for the link, we will definitely check it out. The more places we can talk about Green Bean, the better. It sounds like you have had a lot of luck with your books and we wish you continued success.
